Wallcasts Return to Miami Beach

While the North Beach Bandshell is seeking to return some live music back to the barrier island, it’s not the only venue that’s implementing some type of outdoor entertainment, albeit with safety measures in place. Fans of Miami Beach’s complimentary Wallcasts may be pleased to learn that they will be making a comeback.

The New World Center is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Beginning this Friday, February 19, the acclaimed New World Symphony is joining the festivities by showing a collection of free concerts recorded during the past ten years, held at Soundscape Park. Although the event isn’t exactly a live concert, masks and social distancing will still be required.

New World Center anniversary celebrations will begin with a concert conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas featuring Javier Perianes on the piano, performed back in October 2011. Some of the program highlights include “Sinfonietta” by Janáček and “Overture to The Bartered Bride” by Smetana.

Seating begins at six o’clock and will be available on a first come, first serve basis, as with other events. SoundScape Park is located at 400 17th Street.
