Some good news for beachgoers has emerged. The mayor of Miami-Dade County is lifting the beach curfew after strong anticipation, opening the sunny sands of Miami Beach and beyond to the public tomorrow after they were closed for various reasons, including preventative social distancing measures.

The original plan was to reopen the beaches to the public during the beginning of June, but the beaches remain closed due to several reasons including the protests that were happening over in Miami. The news comes shortly after the recent decision to allow certain businesses like fitness centers in Miami Beach to open their doors to the public once again. As with restaurants, these businesses must abide by social distancing regulations and some have even closed down showers as a preventative measure.

Regarding the beaches, a total of ten people per group are allowed and facial coverings must be worn if six-foot social distancing cannot be maintained for whatever reason. The exception to this rule is if the group members belong to the same household. Coolers nor floats are allowed and facial coverings are required when visiting restrooms or concessions.
