Miami Beach Trolley Returns With Strict Requirements
Some good news has emerged for those that rely on the use of the Miami Beach trolley to get around. The city recently announced it will resume trolley operation on February 15, albeit on a limited basis with fewer hours and stringent public safety protocols in place. The trolley service has remained dormant as a result of the pandemic.
Based on the new schedule, the Miami Beach trolley will operate every day of the week from 8 am to 11 pm with an expected wait time of about thirty minutes. The City will use an Environmental Protection Agency-approved cleaning/disinfecting solution and drivers of the trolley will be required to disinfect the interiors and frequently touched surfaces after they have completed an entire loop. Trolleys will also be deep cleaned each night and they will be equipped with hand sanitizer. Furthermore, drivers must wear masks at all times and they will have their temperatures checked each day.
No more than twelve passengers will be allowed on the trolley and they will be required to wear masks as well as wait until those already on board have fully exited the trolley before they can board.
