Miami Beach Follows in Miami-Dade’s Dining Footsteps
Among the many big stories this week is Miami-Dade County’s decision to allow restaurants to reopen for indoor dining customers, but with restrictions in place, including limits operations to a capacity of 50 percent and without live music or entertainment. In addition, tables are limited to no more than six participants. The news comes after the county mayor voted to ban indoor dining in May and June following the increase in coronavirus cases. Cases have decreased since that time.
Miami Beach is now looking to follow the county’s example and will also allow indoor dining, but a couple of caveats will be there. For starters, it would still be compulsory to close restaurants for indoor dining, when the city curfew is in place from 10 pm to 6 am. Nevertheless, kitchens are still permitted to work only for drive-through or delivery orders after 10 pm. Put differently, during those hours, pick-up and take-out at the curbside are also prohibited.
The 10 p.m. curfew will hang around in Miami-Dade County at the most until Labor Day weekend.
