Bass Museum Announces Walking Tour
Among the many art establishments in Miami Beach, the Bass Museum is among the most well-known. As people seek activities they can enjoy safely outside the home, the museum recently announced the launch of its Art Outside program. As implied by the name, the program seeks to showcase and inform the community on Miami Beach’s vast collection of public art.
Art Outside includes everything from sculptures to video, sound, and more. Participants will walk along a certain route connecting all of the artwork together and there are plans to add more pieces. Some of the art people will see include pieces contributed by notable Miami Beach hotspots like the Wolfsonian, Miami Beach Urban Studios, and the trendy W South Beach. The first of these intended routes will take participants to the Bass itself followed by the Miami Beach Convention Center, Lincoln Road, and a boardwalk expected to showcase photography.
With Art Basel 2020 officially canceled, the Art Outside program is a welcome way for art aficionados to get their fix in a way that also promotes some of the local artwork that may go unnoticed. It is among the first initiatives being spearheaded as Miami Beach seeks alternative art options to make up for the lack of Art Basel this year.
